Sales Tax on Legal Services declared unconstitutional
Lahore High Court has struck down the imposition of sales tax on services on legal practitioners by the Punjab Revenue Authority for being unlawful and unconstitutional. The court declared that legal practitioners as defined under the Legal Practitioners Act do not come within ambit and purview of the Entry 52 of the Second Schedule to the Punjab Sales Tax on Services Act, 2012.
