Ahmad has extensive experience, across a wide range of practice areas, in dispute resolution and legal advisory matters. Ahmad’s practice focuses on constitutional, tax, commercial, banking, intellectual property, labour, white collar crime, competition law, trust and civil law matters. He has represented various leading corporations and regulatory authorities in the revenue, telecommunication, automobile, land acquisition/development, paint and coatings. steel manufacturing, food and beverage sectors before the High Courts, lower courts and tribunals of Pakistan.
He has advised various major national and multinational corporations on cross-border financing, entity formation/setting up, competition law, corporate restructuring, labour & employment and intellectual property matters. Besides dispute resolution and advisory work, Ahmad has extensive experience in handling corporate transactions ranging from mergers & acquisitions to financing and lending. Ahmad, due to his significant expertise in corporate law and complex transactions has been appointed as Chairman by the Lahore High Court, Lahore to head Extra-Ordinary General Meetings (EOGMs) for major merger transactions between large scale corporate entities operating in Pakistan.
Recently, Ahmad was appointed as a Chairman, by the company bench of the Lahore High Court to head the Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EOGM) for the merger between Big Bird Foods Limited and Meta Tech Trading Limited; the merger proved to be a turning point for Big Bird Foods Limited as it was listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). Additionally, he has also been appointed as Chairman for the merger transaction between Digital Custodian Company Limited and LSE Ventures Limited (formerly Lahore Stock Exchange).
Ahmad represents various leading corporations and government organizations such as Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) on routinely basis in important constitutional matters and tax references. He has successfully represented PRA in various constitutional petitions before the Lahore High Court, Lahore. He is licensed to practice as an Advocate of the High Courts and holds an LL.B.(Hons.) from the University of London.
